MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian Energy Ministry will decide whether to forbid gasoline exports in a few days, Deputy Minister Pavel Sorokin said on Monday.
"A ruling on temporary prohibition is ready, we are looking at the details and daily dynamics. Judging by the last two days, the commodities market volume increased and the prices started to fall. We are tracking this attentively," Sorokin said.
Last week Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said that if the wholesale prices for fuel remain at the current record highs, the government will prohibit exports in seven days and will consider raising the obligatory market sales of fuel to 15%.
Sorokin also said that there are no fuel shortages on the Far East after an emergency on the Trans-Siberian railway on July 23. He added that one line of the railway was repaired and oil products have priority in shipments.
